Acme 50 declared Living Building Challenge compliant

Acme 50 - Living Bldg Blog PostWe’re happy to announce our Acme 50 seamless glass walls are Living Building Challenge compliant. You may ask, “What’s the big deal?” This means that the materials used in the manufacture of Acme 50 do not include toxic chemicals that are known to pose serious health risks to humans.*

The Living Building Challenge is a set of design criteria for high performance buildings that takes buildings closer toward truly sustainable design. Concern about the toxic properties of the chemicals currently used to make many of our building materials is addressed in a Red List of chemicals that must be excluded from Living Building certified buildings.

Imperative 11, Red List, within the Living Building Challenge requires that manufacturers disclose the ingredients in their products to ensure that they are free of Red List chemicals and materials. Declare supports the Living Building Challenge by providing a transparent materials database that project teams can select from to meet Imperative 11.

Learn more about Declare and the Living Building Challenge and see the Declare Product Database.

* Living Building Challenge Compliant products contain a Red List ingredient that has a temporary LBC exception in place.
